Brayden Williamson – Student President

Brayden Williamson is an award-winning 
Gospel, Bluegrass & Country singer / guitarist and songwriter.

Born November 14, 2002 Logan, West Virginia.  

He is well known for his efforts to preserve tradition in music, has written two #1 World Wide Bluegrass Chart topping songs at age 16 then continued to go on charts with more originals he’s written and songs written by others.
He has gone on with his calling to write several more original songs and continues to do so. 


Quincy Nelson

He is pursuing an Associates in Arts degree. He is then planning on attending Concord University to work toward a Masters in Social Work. His hobbies include playing music and computer gaming.


Darrell Taylor – Advisor

Darrell Taylor works as the Chief Student Services Officer at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College.  He has a BA in Psychology, an MA in Counseling, and significant doctorate-level coursework in Higher Education Administration and Leadership Studies.  Mr. Taylor’s 33 years of higher education experience includes work at Concord University, Bluefield State College, New River Community and Technical College, and Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College.  He is a Past-President of the West Virginia Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (now WV TRiO) and a recipient of the Mid-Eastern Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel’s Outstanding Service Award.  He has successfully written for over $2 million in grant awards.  Mr. Taylor has a wife (Melinda) and three daughters (Megan, Madison, and Myra).  He is an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and West Virginia University sports fan.

Dianna Toler – Advisor

In 2001, she became a part of the Southern family by working as Counselor II in Student Services and is currently the Director of Student Success. She loves working with students and employees at Southern. She likes to spend time with her family, take pictures, fix up old furniture, make scrapbooks, sing, garden, and travel.
